CSA FACT SHEET: RECORDED CRIME STATISTICS – YEAR ENDING 30 June 2018
State wide figures
- The number of criminal incidents recorded by police in the year to 30 June 2018 was 383,100. This is down 5.6% from 405,976 incidents recorded in the same period last year.
- The number of offences recorded by police in the year to 30 June 2018 was 506,862. This is down 4.9% from 532,893 offences recorded in the same period last year.
- Alleged offender incidents increased 1.0% to 174,793 in the year to June 2018, up from 173,050.
- Unique alleged offenders increased by 2.7% (2,142) to 82,211 in the year ending June 2018.
- Victim reports decreased in the year to 30 June 2018 by 7.4% (24,015) to 298,501 victim reports.
- In the year ending 30 June 2018 unique victims decreased by 7.1% to 228,331 from 245,801 in the previous year.
- Family incidents decreased in the year to 30 June 2018, down 0.5% from 76,494 to 76,124.

- Latrobe (12,896.1 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 3.5%)
- Yarra (11,119.2 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 8%)
- Mildura (9,222.0 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 1.4%)
- Greater Shepparton (9,111.8 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 3.1%)
