- The number of criminal incidents recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 31 December 2019 was 403,807, up 4.6% from 386,205 incidents recorded in the same period last year.
- The number of offences recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 31 December 2019 was 536,690. This is up 4.7% from 512,386 offences recorded in the same period last year.
- Alleged offender incidents increased 6.2% to 180,456 in the year to 31 December 2019, up from 169,987.
- Victim reports increased in the year to 31 December 2019 by 5.6% (16,832) to 317,675 victim reports.
- Family incidents increased in the year to 31 December 2019, up 6.6% from 79,342 to 84,550.

- Melbourne (14,930.6 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 5.7%)
- Latrobe (13,380.4 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 1.6%)
- Yarra (11,034.9 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 3.9%)
- Mildura (9,980.7 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 0.2%)
- Greater Shepparton (9,540.3 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 1.6%).

- Melbourne (20,030.3 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 5.8%)
- Latrobe (18,523.0 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 4.6%)
- Yarra (13,441.3 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 3.2%)
- Mildura (13,302.3 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 0.6%)
- Greater Shepparton (13,257.1 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 0.1%).
