- The number of criminal incidents recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 30 June 2021 was 378,877, down 6.9% from 406,857 incidents recorded in the same period last year.
- The number of offences recorded by Victoria Police in the year 30 June 2021 was 522,486. This is down 4.0% from 544,107 offences recorded in the same period last year.
- Alleged offender incidents increased 15.4% to 195,705 in the year to 30 June 2021, up from 169,592.
- Victim reports decreased in the year to 30 June 2021, down 15.7% (49,496) to 266,546 victim reports.
- Family incidents increased in the year to 30 June 2021, up 5.9% from 88,205 to 93,440.
- Alleged offender incidents with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status increased 6.7% to 14,305 in the year to 30 June 2021.
- In the year to 30 June 2021 the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status of those involved in Family incident increased for Affected family members (up 7.4% to 4,833) while Other parties increased (up 8.0% to 6,021).
- Unique alleged offenders increased 12.8% to 93,943 in the year to 30 June 2021, up from 83,308.
- Unique victims decreased in the year to 30 June 2021, down 14.1% to 205,646 victims.

- Melbourne (15,326.4 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 6.8%)
- Latrobe (11,526.8 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 13.0%)
- Yarra (10,241.7 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 7.7%)
- Ararat (9,371.7 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 11.9%)
- Port Phillip (9,138.9 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 7.5%).

The highest recorded offence rates in Local Government Areas in the year ending June 2021 were:
- Melbourne (21,355.9 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 9.7%)
- Latrobe (16,713.2 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 7.5%)
- Ararat (16,427.5 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 41.2%)
- Greater Shepparton (14,374.1 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 9.1%)
- Yarra (13,210.4 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 3.7%).
