Legislative changes have led to increases in Breaches of orders offences recorded in the 10 year period ending September 2018. The effect of these changes on the statistical trends observed for this category will be explored in the latest spotlight.
In the year ending September 2018, there were 60,311 Breaches of orders offences recorded. This is an increase of 5% (2,957 offences) when compared to the year ending September 2017, 43% (18,051 offences) compared to the year ending September 2014 and 319% (45,900 offences) compared to the year ending September 2009. This increase in offences can be attributed to the offence groups Breach bail conditions and Breach family violence order.
